Building Strong Foundations
Pre-Prep is where curiosity begins to develop into confidence as a learner.
From Reception onwards, children move gradually from play-based exploration towards more structured learning, while retaining the creativity, enjoyment and sense of discovery that make these early years so important.
Our aim is to establish strong academic foundations while helping children become increasingly independent, inquisitive and confident.
Learning That Connects
We want children to understand that subjects do not exist in isolation.
Teachers create opportunities to connect areas of learning, helping pupils make links between what they encounter in the classroom, through creative activities and in the wider world.
Learning may move between English, drama, history, art or outdoor experiences, giving children a deeper understanding of a topic and helping knowledge feel purposeful.
Teachers continually reflect on and adapt the curriculum to suit the needs and interests of each cohort.
Confidence Through Experience
Academic learning is only one part of a child’s development.
Sport, music, performance, creative activities and wider school life provide regular opportunities for children to communicate, collaborate and build resilience.
Children are encouraged to have a go, make mistakes, learn from them and try again.
These experiences prepare pupils for the transition into Prep, where specialist teaching, greater academic challenge and increasing independence become a more significant part of everyday learning.
Curious minds. Courageous hearts. Confident futures.
