A Broad and Ambitious Curriculum
Breadth is one of the defining strengths of academic life at Prestfelde.
Pupils study the core academic subjects alongside languages, humanities, music, drama, art, design technology, sport and the wider curriculum.
All children study a language, with many studying two from Year 5.
Specialist teachers bring expertise and enthusiasm to their subjects, creating lessons that are academically rigorous while encouraging pupils to ask questions, make connections and think critically.
Our schemes of work are deliberately ambitious, with no fixed ceiling on learning.
Academic Foundations, Future-Ready Skills
Prestfelde offers a creative, skills-based curriculum that combines the strongest elements of Common Entrance with the knowledge, confidence and future-facing skills children will need beyond the classroom. Common Entrance is retained across all core subjects, providing academic structure and ensuring pupils are thoroughly prepared for the next stage of their education.
Examinations remain part of that preparation, but they are approached with perspective. The emphasis is not placed solely on results,
but on helping children understand how to revise, manage their time, respond thoughtfully under pressure and approach assessments with confidence.
Regular assessment and constructive feedback guide progress and encourage pupils to take pride in improvement, building confidence through mastery, momentum and a growing sense of independence.
