Welcome to Prestfelde
Prestfelde is a school where children are inspired, known and given space to flourish – academically, creatively and socially – within a community that feels like family. Set within a 30-acre oasis in the heart of Shrewsbury, our pupils enjoy the freedom to explore, the reassurance of outstanding pastoral care, and the excitement of a broad education.
Everything we do begins with a child’s curiosity and ends with their confidence. In between sits the courage to try – to ask the question, to audition for the part, join the team, lead the House.
We are proud of our tradition and history, yet we are equally progressive in outlook – always moving forward in how we teach, how we care, and how we prepare children for the world ahead. Our motto, Experientia Docet (“experience teaches”), reflects our belief that the best learning is joyful, inspiring and curiosity-led.
From the earliest years in Little Prestfelde through to the leadership opportunities of Year 8, children benefit from expert teaching, excellent facilities and an extraordinary co-curricular offering. With an average class size of 16, no child here is anonymous. Pupils are encouraged to ask questions, to perform, to
compete, to create, to lead – and to enjoy the fun of childhood, where every aspect of the whole child is celebrated.
Prestfelde is also proud to be part of the Shrewsbury School Family, offering a clear pathway and continuity for families who value a joined-up educational journey. For pupils who begin their Shrewsbury journey with us in Year 7, there is the added reassurance of a guaranteed place at Shrewsbury School for Year 9.
Most importantly, the relationships formed here last. Prestfeldians remain forever connected through shared experiences, friendships and community.
